Adding An Associate?

Many of you have faced the issue of adding an associate to your practice in the past. Others of you may be contemplating this decision in the near future. While fairly straight forward on the surface, how you handle this issue can have long-term implications on the image, growth, and profitability of your practice. Based on my numerous discussions with doctors regarding this matter it seems particularly important to agree upon both a timeframe and method for figuring a buy-in price (if you intend to let the associate buy-in). I also agree with Tom Snyder’s opinion in this article that you should wait for some set period of time before announcing the new associate to your entire patient base.
