But Im not an expert lo 300x101 - Being an Expert: My long term professional goal

From the Latin word for experience, an expert is someone who has a great deal of knowledge, skill, and time in a given field. There is nothing inherently extraordinary about an expert. It’s simply a matter of dedication, time, and passion. These qualities are what set them apart from their colleagues.

My ultimate professional goal is to become known as the go-to expert in dental office design and construction; and I am actively working toward that end.

4 Steps to Expert Status

If you are looking to become an expert in your field, you could use these tips as well as I can. Forbes shared a few easy things we can do as we strive to be recognized in our industry.

1. Teach a class

What better way to show that you’re already an expert than teaching others about what you know?

2. Write a guest blog post

Similar to teaching a class, publishing articles with your insights and skills highlighted will have you recognized as an industry insider.

3. Speak at a conference or event

Again, sharing what you know is the best way to show that you know a lot.

4. Network with likeminded individuals

Surrounding yourself with other individuals immersed in your industry will not only increase your own knowledge and skill base but it will propel your name further than you can do on your own.

What do all of these have in common?

You have to get out there and actively share what you know with people who care about that knowledge. When you do so, you will naturally emerge as a leader and teacher and those are the stepping stones to achieving expert status.

Primus Dental Solutions is not just about bringing you enough knowledge to complete your building or renovation project; we bring you the best and most comprehensive knowledge. That’s what sets the expert apart from the rest.
